   Proposal Description:
   Background: Research has suggested that HIV-related impairment, as demonstrated on neuropsychological testing, predicts impairment in work, finances, medication management, cooking, and shopping (Heaton et al., 2004). A recent study examining predictors of judgment and problem-solving in a sample of individuals with various forms of dementia indicated that MMSE scores reflected 9 of the variance in judgment/problem-solving scores (Mayo et al., 2013) however it may be more useful to examine individual cognitive domains as predictors, rather than a composite score. Therefore the purpose of this study is to examine neuropsychological predictors of every day judgment/problem-solving, specifically in patients with HIV.
